John and Bronagh go to Mexico: in pictures

by Toby Manhire / 10 March, 2013
Some evocative images from the Mexican president's photo album.
The official Mexican presidential site has posted a slide show of the New Zealand prime minister's visit.

Some of them are rather artful.

Such as this:

And, in a faintly terrifying way, this:

Enrique Peña Nieto, John Key, and their cohorts chew the fat at Chapultepec Castle, Mexico City, overlooked by  David Alfaro Siqueiros's 1957 mural "From the Dictatorship of Porfirio Diaz to the Revolution – The People in Arms"

But my favourite, by some distance is this evocative, almost poignant stolen moment:

Bronagh Key, John Key, President Enrique Peña Nieto, and Angélica Rivera Hurtado (Mexican actress and first lady).

Although this is rather good, too (who's that guy?):

One of those three was voted their nation's sexiest politician.

Hopefully we'll get to see a few of John and Bronagh's trademark holiday snaps as they continue their tour of Latin America.

For who can forget this:
