Ricky Gervais and the charity game

The comedian pledges on Twitter to donate thousands to charity - if no one responds to his tweet.
Why does Ricky Gervais enjoy Twitter? "There's so many idiots out there to enjoy," he told Jon Stewart the other day (see below), "from the comfort of my own mansion."

He explained to Stewart "the charity game", which he played again overnight.

Ricky Gervais is a divisive figure, on Twitter and off it, but it's hard not to chuckle at this exercise.

Before you RT this Tweet read it TWICE.  I will donate £10,000 to charity, if NO ONE, NOT ONE PERSON, RTs, Favourites or replies in any way.



There are presumably a good few dozen bots devoted to retweeting Gervaisisms, so the pledge was never achievable, but not 454 of them. (The first two tweets appear, for some reason to have been since deleted.)
