Russell Brand meets Jeremy Paxman: the rematchby Toby Manhire
Watch the comedian-philosopher's latest interview with the BBC veteran - and their notorious previous encounter.
The last time Russell Brand was interviewed by Jeremy Paxman, the BBC's withering Newsnight interviewer, the result was an enthralling 15 minutes of television. It persuaded some who had previously disliked the flamboyant comedian (Brand, I mean, obviously) to find something creditable in him. Others were tipped in the opposite direction by such a display of "half-baked, pseudo-intellectual guff".
Now the two men have met again, occasioned by Brand's guest editorship of the New Statesman magazine (his introductory essay in the issue is here), and Brand is cross with Paxman.
Here's the enounter, and, below that, the earlier interviews.
