If their last appearance at Lovebucket was anything to go by, this French-style pop-up will be a sellout. La Peche is a collaboration between partners Emma Ogilvie and Nick Landsman who turn unassuming spaces into temporary bistros. The formula started in the couple’s Paris apartment as a supper club before expanding into various natural wine bars in the French capital, and now, Auckland. The focus is no-fuss food and casual service – like being at a friend’s house, with an air of effortless elegance. Bookings recommended, email emma@frenchfriedfood.com.

Orphans Kitchen X Michael Meredith

Breakfast and a good deed in one hit – Michael Meredith and Tom Hishon cook for a cause this month, presenting a two-course Samoan-inspired breakfast with 10% of the ticket sales going to the Fred Hollows Foundation, supporting visually impaired people in the Pacific. Metro presents: Sid at The French Café

Metro
invites you to an intimate dinner with The French Café’s new owners, the Sahrawats, in the restaurant's private dining room. Taste of Auckland

Auckland’s annual food festival has a new home downtown this year, with some of the event happening indoors. Hosted between The Cloud, Shed 10, and outdoor waterfront areas there’ll be less chance of your hair getting ruined by that pesky early November rain. Participating restaurants include Gerome, Baduzzi, Paris Butter and Farina; there will be intimate chef demonstrations by the likes of Dariush Lolaiy of Cazador, and new Clooney chef Nobu Lee; plus some cracking New Zealand musicians – Hollie Smith, Tami Neilson and Hopetoun Brown are all on the bill. Acme @ Culprit

Pasta takes centre stage Sydney restaurant Acme’s upcoming pop-up at Culprit, but not as you know it. Executive chef and co-owner of Acme, Mitch Orr, will take you on a round the world trip, combining pasta with international flavours – leaning particularly hard on wider Asian techniques and flavour profiles. The nine-course menu will showcase dishes like pig head macaroni cheese, and stracciatella with beetroot. All complimented by unusual wines supplied by Wine Diamonds.

Vegans of South East Asia

The Tasting Shed’s newly appointed executive chef Alok Vasanth (formerly of Cassia) prepares a six-course dinner, showcasing the abundance of vegan cuisine in South East Asia for the restaurant’s next special event. Williams Eatery, the latest from sophisticated brother-duo Charles and Patrick Williams (ex-Ceremony) is now open for dinner from Wednesday to Saturday. Drinks specials to complement their bistro menu include $8 Sawmill tap beers, $12 espresso martinis and $10 wines between 5-7pm. This, plus the allure of their Scandi-inspired dining room is sure to impress your next Bumble date.

Sawmill Brewery X Monmouth Glass

Chef Will Michell from the Smoko Room at Sawmill Brewery is working with Stephen Bradbourne of Monmouth Glass Studio to deliver an art-inspired evening of food and beer. The five-course menu celebrates Matakana food producers and each dish is matched with Sawmill beer (a wine match is also available). Tickets, $135pp, include a piece from Monmouth to take home.

Miso Ra at Urbanaut Brewery

There’ll be slurpy noodles and frosty pints aplenty when newbie food truck Miso Ra parks up at Kingsland’s Urbanaut Brewery later this month. Kingsland locals and ramen aficionados Taku and Noriko Hida’s truck may be small but their dishes are mighty: Bowls combine a restorative mix of soup stocks cooked for 8 hours, soy-marinated jammy-yolked eggs and toothsome noodles.

Forest

Are you in the mood for some plant-based food? If so, reserve a table for the second instalment of Kōkako Cafe head chef Plabita Florence’s pop-up, Forest.
