Metro Top 50 2018 restaurant The Halcyon on Jervois Road in Herne Bay is vibrant with relaxed food. 

Situated on a well-known Herne Bay corner soaked in sun and saturated in colour, The Halcyon is the latest endeavour from Sarah Conway, Melissa Morrow and Blair Russell, the trio behind Ponsonby Road Bistro. In the hands of such seasoned professionals you know you can rely on the important things: a varied menu stacked with international flavours, a well-considered drinks menu and service that is friendly, warm and gracious. Moving away from the formality of the PRB, the food here is more relaxed and colourfully plated to suit the vibrant interior – the best way to enjoy it is to try a bit of everything. Whether grazing on spiced-fish tacos or haloumi, hazelnuts and honey in the afternoon sun, or enjoying a hefty charred scotch fillet with a glass of red by the blazing back-room fire, The Halcyon has you covered.
